Wilson R. Palacios (PhD, University of Miami) is an Associate Professor of Criminology in the School of Criminology & Justice Studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Dr. Palacios’s primary teaching areas are: (1) criminological theory, (2) race, crime and gender, (3) substance use, misuse, and abuse, and (4) qualitative research methods and analysis. His research focus includes people who use drugs, (PWUDs), illicit drug markets, and community-engaged research (CEnR). Dr. Palacios has served as either PI, Co-PI, or consultant on several federally and state-funded community-engaged research (CEnR) projects, is responsible for a series of both peer and non-peer reviewed research articles and community /conference presentations. In addition, Dr. Palacios is a certified NVIVO expert and consultant.
